Job Title:
Order Filler Job Description The Order Filler plays a key role in supporting production by accurately pulling, building, and documenting parts and materials from the stockroom. This position focuses on gathering necessary components for orders, scanning products in and out, and entering data into the internal system to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Responsibilities Pull parts and materials from the stockroom according to production requirements and order specifications. Gather materials, pieces, and parts from the stockroom to support ongoing production activities. Assemble and build the pieces, parts, and orders needed for production in an accurate and timely manner. Lift and move parts and materials as needed to complete order filling and production tasks. Scan products in and out using RF scanners and other warehouse technology to maintain accurate inventory records. Document orders and inventory movements in the internal computer system with precise data entry. Perform packing and packaging tasks to prepare orders for distribution or further processing. Handle general labor duties in the stockroom, including stocking, palletizing, loading, and material handling. Use pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely when moving materials. Support warehouse distribution activities by picking and packing orders as needed. Maintain an organized and clean work station and stockroom area to promote efficiency and safety. Follow all established procedures and guidelines for order picking, inventory control, and documentation. Collaborate with a small team to ensure production and packing goals are met each shift. Essential Skills Ability to perform order picking, packing, and general labor tasks in a stockroom or warehouse environment. Proficiency with basic computer use for data entry and working within an internal system. Ability to use RF scanners to scan products in and out and track inventory movements. Experience with material handling activities such as loading, stocking, and palletizing. Capability to operate basic warehouse equipment including pallet jacks. Attention to detail when documenting orders and inventory in the system. Ability to lift and move parts and materials as required for production and order fulfillment. Must pass a 3rd grade reading level test to accurately follow written instructions and documentation. Reliability in maintaining consistent productivity during a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working in a production and warehouse distribution environment. Experience with inventory control, stocking, and warehouse packing is beneficial. Familiarity with using computers in a work setting for basic data entry tasks. No specific education or formal certificates required for this role. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a smaller stockroom within a corporate and manufacturing facility rather than a large, traditional warehouse. You work on a first shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as part of a small team of about five people, with approximately four others working in the packing area. Each team member has their own workstation equipped with a computer and access to RF scanners and pallet jacks. The environment is friendly and conversational, and you may occasionally interact with senior leadership such as vice presidents. The setting is structured yet relaxed, allowing you to focus on accurate order filling and production support in a clean, organized space. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McCook, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $15.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
