Order Picker Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Order Picker to join our dynamic team. This role is based at 2001 Harbor Bay Parkway, Alameda, CA, with two available shifts: 6am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday. Candidates must have flexibility to work weekends and overtime as required to meet demand. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English is essential. Responsibilities Perform warehouse duties such as picking orders, receiving and stowing products, and loading and unloading trailers. Fulfill orders for Peets.com and Costco Department channels with accuracy and quality to avoid damage. Ensure shipments are loaded and received on the correct trucks within assigned deadlines. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Continuously stand or walk in a warehouse environment throughout an 8-hour day or more. Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach to stack, carry, lift, and pick products throughout an 8-hour day or more. Continuously lift 20 lbs, frequently lift 25-40 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs or more. Frequently stack pallets and totes (20-50 lbs) up to 6 feet tall. Frequently lift above the shoulders. Essential Skills Attention to detail. Self-management and ability to work independently. Ability to lift 30 lbs. Ability to work effectively with a diverse team. Ability to uphold and follow safety, food safety, and production quality standards. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately in English. Prior order picking/pulling and scanner experience preferred. Ability to perform accurate data entry. Scheduling flexibility including overtime and weekends to accommodate delayed orders. Accuracy, thoroughness, reliability, and adaptability to changing priorities. Self-directed and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is beneficial. Experience with RF scanners and electric pallet jacks. Understanding of warehouse inventory management. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility that operates in a fast-paced environment. Employees are expected to be actively engaged at all times and must be willing to work overtime when needed. The role involves continuous physical activity including standing, walking, lifting, and reaching. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Alameda, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.76 - $17.76/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
