Job Description

Packing and Shipping Specialist Rlyxon Los Angeles, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $25.82 - $31.10 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Health savings account Relocation assistance Health insurance Flexible spending account Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Employee assistance program 401(k) matching Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Computer operation Interpersonal skills Packing Moving English High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Summary We're hiring a Packing and Shipping Specialist to get customer orders boxed up and out the door on time. You'll spend your day at a packing station, pulling items from the shelves and matching them to the order slip before wrapping everything so it survives the trip. It's usually steady work. When a big batch of orders lands all at once, things get busy, that's just how shipping goes. You'll also help unload deliveries and keep the shipping area clear. We're a friendly team, and we'd rather an order go out right than go out fast. Responsibilities Packing orders into boxes and mailers. Check each item against the packing slip before sealing the box. Printing and attaching shipping labels. Unload incoming cartons and move them to the right shelf, which is often the heaviest part of the day, so lift carefully and ask for help when something's awkward. Restock boxes and tape as they run low. Light sweeping between shifts. Scanning outgoing packages for carrier pickup. Qualifications You keep track of small details, like a wrong size or a missing item, even when the day gets busy. Comfort with a computer is enough to scan labels and look up orders on a screen. If you can read and follow written instructions in English, you'll generally do fine with order slips and carrier labels. Showing up on time for your scheduled shifts matters, since the rest of the crew depends on it. When shifts get hectic, you stay calm and work through the pile one order at a time. Being a team player helps, because orders pass through several hands before they leave. Willingness to learn how we do things, and to ask when you're not sure, counts for a lot.
