Job Description

Packing and Shipping Specialist Rrevor Chicago, IL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $25.16 - $30.30 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Relocation assistance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Employee assistance program 401(k) matching Referral program Retirement plan Qualifications Computer operation Interpersonal skills Packing Moving High school diploma or GED Picking & packing Full Job Description Job Summary We're hiring a Packing and Shipping Specialist to manage the final stretch of the order process, from pulling stock to sealing the box. You'll check items against the paperwork, pack them carefully, and make sure nothing shifts around during transit. Some shifts are steady and predictable. Others speed up right before a cutoff, and you're moving through boxes as fast as the line demands. You'll print labels, apply them to the correct packages, and stage finished orders for pickup near the dock. We typically run two shipping cutoffs a day, so timing your pace around those matters. It's a role where the workload shifts with order volume. Responsibilities Pulling and checking stock against order paperwork Packing boxes with enough padding to keep contents secure Printing labels and attaching them to the right packages Scanning outgoing packages before they leave the dock Staging completed orders for pickup Restocking tape, boxes, and labels as they run low Keeping the packing station reasonably clean between batches Flagging damaged or incorrect items to a supervisor Qualifications You keep track of small details, since a missed item or wrong label can throw off an entire shipment down the line. Good communication skills come in handy when you need to flag a packing issue before a truck departs. You're comfortable using basic computer or scanning tools once you've learned our system. When several orders come in together, you're able to stay organized and work through them one at a time without losing track. Being reliable matters here, since the shipping schedule depends on the team showing up and keeping pace. You're willing to learn new steps whenever the packing process gets adjusted. A positive attitude helps on the days when the packing line gets a little hectic. You're a team player who pitches in wherever the shipping area needs an extra hand.
