Purchasing Manager Details:
Contract to Hire position $50.00 to $55.00 /hour First Shift Lead, coach, and develop buyers and purchasing team members; promote teamwork, respect, inclusion, and accountability. Develop sourcing and commodity strategies that optimize the supply base, mitigate risk, and support production requirements. Evaluate suppliers and negotiate pricing, commercial terms, capacity, quality, and delivery commitments using market benchmarks and detailed cost analysis. Lead annual price reviews, cost-reduction initiatives, design-change negotiations, and purchasing budget and savings targets. Monitor supplier and team performance; report KPIs, project milestones, and risks, to management. Review requisitions, quotes, scopes of work, and competitive bids for accuracy, reasonableness, compliance, and business value. Analyze commodity markets, spend, demand, and large data sets to identify trends, sourcing opportunities, and process improvements. Maintain purchasing systems, supplier data, and strategy records in SAP and/or Ariba; support direct raw material requirements. Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing, finance, engineering, quality, shared services, and other purchasing teams. Support audits, vendor maintenance, and payment issue resolution.
Purchasing Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Five or more years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience, including strategic sourcing, cost analysis, supplier negotiation, and direct buying. Demonstrated leadership experience developing team members and managing priorities, performance, and deadlines. Working knowledge of SAP, Ariba, or comparable ERP/procurement systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Strong analytical, negotiation, decision-making, project-management, and written and verbal communication skills.
