Job Summary A growing food and beverage production organization in Monrovia, CA is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and inventory planning for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a procurement professional with experience buying raw proteins, food ingredients, packaging materials, and operational supplies. The Procurement Manager will play a key role in maintaining supply continuity, improving cost performance, supporting production schedules, and strengthening supplier partnerships. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams in Operations, Production, Quality Assurance, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage procurement activities for raw proteins, ingredients, packaging materials, and operational supplies to support uninterrupted production.
• Create and execute sourcing strategies that improve supply security, reduce costs, strengthen supplier performance, and support business growth.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, rebates, and supplier agreements while maintaining quality, service, and delivery standards.
• Monitor supplier performance, commodity markets, packaging trends, inventory levels, and supply risks to support proactive purchasing decisions.
• Partner with Operations, Production, Quality Assurance, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to align purchasing with production schedules, customer demand, budgets, and inventory goals.
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier files, specifications, pricing agreements, cost analyses, and ERP/MRP data to support accurate procurement planning. Compensation and Benefits

• Manage strategic sourcing and procurement for proteins, food ingredients, packaging, and operational supplies.
• Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, cost reduction initiatives, and supplier performance improvement.
• Support demand forecasting, production planning, inventory analysis, and purchasing decisions using ERP/MRP systems.
• Ensure purchased materials meet food safety, regulatory, quality, customer, and production requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Operations Management, or a related field required. Equivalent education and directly related experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably in food manufacturing, meat processing, proteins, prepared foods, or packaging.
• Experience purchasing raw proteins, food ingredients, packaging materials, and operational supplies in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong financial acumen, including material cost analysis, purchase price variance review, inventory valuation, margin analysis, and cost reduction planning.
• Experience using Canopy ERP or comparable ERP/MRP systems for demand forecasting, inventory planning, purchasing, and inventory optimization.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong negotiation, communication, vendor relationship management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience using KPIs or supplier scorecards to evaluate supplier quality, delivery, pricing, responsiveness, service, and compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Professional, ethical, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.
• Regular and timely attendance required. Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of protein commodity markets, agricultural supply chains, or food ingredient sourcing.
• Working knowledge of USDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, SQF, or other food safety and quality systems.
• Experience developing alternate suppliers, contingency plans, and sourcing strategies to reduce supply chain risk.
• Experience supporting new product development or customer programs through ingredient, packaging, and material sourcing.
