San Francisco, California, United States Salary:
$115,000 - $150,000 Day to day Lead end-to-end RFx processes, from defining requirements and issuing RFQs through supplier evaluation and selection. Develop and maintain should-cost models for mechanical components, including injection-moulded plastics, stamped components, fasteners, connectors and harnesses. Negotiate piece prices, tooling costs, payment terms and supplier agreements. Manage commercial relationships with key suppliers, including performance tracking, escalations and relationship development. Drive supplier readiness throughout new product introduction, production ramp and ongoing manufacturing. Support cost, capacity planning and lead-time management initiatives. Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver the mechanicals sourcing roadmap. Present clear sourcing recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders. Travel domestically and internationally, averaging approximately 25%. Requirements Experience sourcing mechanical components, with exposure to injection moulding, stamping, harness assembly and off-the-shelf components such as fasteners. Understanding of manufacturing cost drivers for custom components and tooling. 1-3+ years of sourcing or procurement experience in a similar role. Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills. Strong project management capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexible mindset with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Preferred Skills Experience with custom part development. Strong track record of applying first-principles thinking to supplier negotiations.
