SUMMARY Responsible for maintaining the purchasing function in accordance with corporate policies and recommendations; incumbent provides guidance and assistance to all departments as well as maintaining adequate and effective inventory levels that are both cost-effective and seamless for purchasing operations. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Communicates and coordinates with all departments to understand needs, anticipate, and resolve issues. Make sure purchasing needs meet the needs of the property, and that company funds are allocated and spent in the most cost-effective manner. Directs the establishment of departmental standards, guidelines, and objectives and maintains other administrative processes such as budgeting and staffing to ensure proper planning, efficient operation of departments and successful achievement of resort goals. Establishes and evaluates financial and profitability goals through annual capital and budget plan process. Monitors and evaluates operational projects to ensure the successful execution of activities and to improve the effectiveness of the areas of responsibility. Maintains and enhances a guest focused culture in all areas of responsibility. Maintains schedules in compliance with regulations and authorities having jurisdiction; manages responsibilities in compliance with resort safety policies. Maintains status on legal issues and technological advances with impact on the industry; maintains awareness of scope and progress of competition. Effective communication skills with all levels of employees, guests, and all other outside contacts. Ability to delegate responsibility, motivate and lead direct reports to achieve goals and objectives. Familiarity with state and federal environmental standards and OSHA regulations. Understanding of corporate and resort specific policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Interface with Accounting Department to collect from appropriate department and facilitate financial analysis of purchasing functions. Makes purchasing decisions by researching and communicating with existing and potential vendors to cultivate working relationships and to develop the most advantageous price and service agreements and exploring alternatives with department managers. Oversee scheduling of shipments to ensure adequate supplies and inventory. Conducts weekly and monthly inventories to report and reduce variances. Works with vendors to resolve discrepancies and return transactions, coordinates delivery schedules to ensure timely delivery of products which meet company and departmental needs. Maintains central receiving storeroom area. Supervises staff performing inventory check-in, distribution, and transfer of inventory and supplies, including daily accounting business, to all base areas. Monitor and maintain per levels of commonly needed supplies such as paper goods, office supplies, cleaning and maintenance supplies, employee uniforms, other large cost or bulk orders. Point for all incoming and outgoing UPS or Fed-Ex mail; supervises resort supply runner, schedules weekly pick-ups at area vendors. Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions. Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor. Flexible working hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY 1.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in business or accounting and or minimum of four years of accounting and purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Resort certification on any necessary equipment.
