About Our Client Our client is a high growth food manufacturer hiring for a Director of Purchasing - Food and Packaging that is based in Victorville, CA. Job Description As the Director of Purchasing - Food and Packaging you will develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies for food and packaging materials to meet business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and cost efficiency. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to ensure consistent quality and delivery. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business goals. Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet operational demands while minimizing costs. Manage, train and mentor a purchasing and procurement team. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities. The Successful Applicant A successful Purchasing Director - Food and Packaging should have: Experience with procurement and supply chain management in the food manufacturing sector. A Bachelors degree in a related field. Experience sourcing protein, food ingredients, and packaging materials. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Ability to analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities. Proficiency in supplier relationship management. Knowledge of compliance standards and industry regulations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders. Experience developing, hiring, and training a procurement and sourcing team.
