Versteel designs and manufactures innovative, quality products with outstanding customer service. All of our furniture is manufactured in Jasper, Indiana by dedicated and skilled personnel. Versteel strives to exceed expectations by providing outstanding service, exceptional value, and socially responsible products and policies. Vertsteel is currently looking for a Director of Procurement to join our team. The Director of Procurement will negotiate and manage agreements with material suppliers, purchase all materials, manage their distribution, and ensure that Versteel maintains a robust supply chain.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate with vendors and then manage supplier agreement compliance while ensuring best cost, quality, delivery, and service Cultivate positive relationships with vendors and suppliers Manage the materials inventory and the distribution of it, ensuring accurate record keeping, open communication, and efficient processes are implemented. Work closely with Plant Operations to identify issues in the supply chain and develop solutions Proactively address vendor performance issues Conduct regular material cost review, identifying sourcing alternatives that yield cost savings. Communicate with manufacturing with regard to potential disruptions to the supply chain identifying late orders and communicating revised material receipt dates. Create purchase orders. Regular review of safety stock materials, adjusting quantities as required. Work closely with New Product Development, Sales Operations, and Engineering, providing timely material pricing and sourcing options. Explore new supply chain sources Daily review of purchase order report addressing issues as needed Maintain Monthly Activity Reports (i.e. daily requisitions summary, cycle count performance, purchase orders issued. All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required in Business or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of three years of experience in purchasing in the manufacturing industry.
