Purchasing Manager

Vanguard National Trailer is a premier manufacturer of trailers for North America. We are GROWING!!! We are currently looking for some amazing people to join our Aftermarket Team. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for all purchasing for OEXSpec production and sales, maintain vendor pricing contracts, and coordinate with production. This position will report directly to the COO of OEXSpec.

Position:

Duties:

Supervise and maintain all negotiation activities with vendors. Supervise new product and vendor management. Maintain vendor pricing contracts in Visual. Manage inventory levels, turns, and obsolescence. Coordinate purchasing efforts cohesively with production operations and schedule management. Coordinate inbound, CL, TL & LTL shipping freight companies to maximize carrier utilization and maximize freight savings in conjunction with logistics manager. Advance system capabilities for processes and forecasting. Review packaging and labeling for identification and economical savings and creating an efficient flow through the assembly process.

Skills:

Good oral and written communication abilities. Supervisor and/or Management training Organized Self-Starter Self-Motivated Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.). Personable, patient, and firm

Experience:

Five years minimum in purchasing or inventory management field. Two years minimum in DRP forecast or MRP planning. Two years minimum in Truck-Trailer industry. Supervisory or management experience preferred.

Education:

Minimum High School Diploma Preferred 2 to 4 year Associate degree
