Job Description
Position Summary The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across the company's key material, packaging, and manufacturing categories. This position will have primary responsibility for optimizing cost, quality, supply continuity, supplier performance, and commercial terms while supporting the company's growth and manufacturing objectives. Key categories will include nonwoven substrates, chemicals and formulation ingredients, packaging materials, related freight/logistics, and other critical direct and indirect spend categories. The successful candidate will be expected to move the organization from a primarily transactional purchasing approach toward a strategic, data-driven sourcing model built around supplier competition, category strategies, total cost, supply-chain risk management, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Develop and implement sourcing strategies for major company spend categories. 2. Nonwoven Substrate Sourcing Lead strategic sourcing activities for the company's primary nonwoven substrate requirements, including: Domestic and international nonwoven suppliers. Supplier capacity, lead times, minimum order quantities, and production constraints. Freight and logistics considerations associated with imported and domestic substrates. 3. Chemical & Formulation Sourcing Manage strategic sourcing for chemicals, preservatives, surfactants, lotions, fragrances, actives, and other formulation-related materials. 4. Packaging Sourcing Develop sourcing strategies for primary and secondary packaging materials. 5. Supplier Qualification & Development Update and support a formal supplier qualification and onboarding process in partnership 6. Supplier Risk Management Proactively identify and mitigate supply-chain risks. 7. Cost Reduction & Value Engineering Develop and lead strategic sourcing cost-reduction programs. 8. Contract & Commercial Management Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing agreements, rebates, and commercial terms. Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply-chain management. Demonstrated experience negotiating with suppliers and delivering measurable cost reductions. Strong analytical and financial capabilities. Advanced Excel/data-analysis skills. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Ability to independently manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities. Experience working cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience in wet wipes, personal care, consumer products, medical products, or related manufacturing industries . Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline. Experience sourcing nonwoven materials. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Experience with supplier qualification and development. Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement methodologies.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per yearBenefits:
