Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Purchasing to lead our procurement initiatives and optimize our supply chain operations. Lead negotiations for purchasing contracts with vendors and suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing, terms, and conditions through direct negotiation and strategic sourcing. Oversee the management of procurement management systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and automated procurement platforms to streamline purchasing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, logistics, inventory management, and finance to forecast needs and coordinate supply chain activities. Identify secondary and tertiary suppliers to maintain consistent supply chain. Monitor supplier performance through vendor contract management, vendor management systems, and regular evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules. Analyze Excel data reports for inventory levels, pricing trends, and procurement metrics to inform decision-making and optimize inventory control. Lead a team of procurement professionals by providing guidance on sourcing strategies, contract negotiations, and vendor relationship management. Requirements Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or supply chain environments with a strong understanding of inventory management systems. Extensive knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS for procurement processes; familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability in negotiating purchasing contracts effectively while managing vendor relationships to secure optimal terms. Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and cross-departmental collaboration. Excellent analytical skills using Excel data analysis tools to interpret procurement data and support strategic decisions. Familiarity with supply chain management principles including logistics, inventory control, pricing strategies, and contract negotiation. Exceptional communication skills for engaging with vendors, internal stakeholders, and executive leadership to align procurement objectives.
