Summary:
The Director of the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) serves as the strategic engine room for the procurement function. This leader is responsible for designing and governing the tools, processes, and capabilities that enable the entire enterprise to perform at a world-class level.
Reporting Relationships:
The Director reports to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and serves as a key internal consultant to business unit leaders across the Health Plan and Care Delivery sectors.
Work Arrangement Hybrid:
For candidates within 60 miles of Albuquerque, on-site presence is expected Tuesday-Thursday.
Remote:

Job Description:
Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) seeks a visionary and transformative leader to serve as the Director, Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) . As PHS continues to evolve as a leading integrated healthcare delivery network and health plan, the procurement function is undergoing a sophisticated shift toward a centralized, data-driven, and highly efficient operating model. The Director will be the architect of this evolution. Tasked with bridging the gap between the health plan and care delivery systems, this leader will standardize the PHS Way of procurement. This is a high-visibility role reporting into the enterprise procurement leadership, offering the opportunity to build a best-in-class CoE from the ground up, leveraging modern ERP systems (Workday) and advanced analytics to drive multi-million-dollar impacts on the organization's fiscal health.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Governance Develop and execute a multi-year CoE roadmap aligned with PHS's enterprise transformation. Establish and enforce standardized procurement policies, compliance frameworks, and ethical sourcing standards. Champion the transition from tactical purchasing to strategic value creation. Performance & Analytics Establish a Single Source of Truth for spend data, leading the centralized analytics function. Define and monitor enterprise KPIs, including savings realization, diversity spend, and contract compliance. Partner with Finance to ensure procurement's impact is reflected in the bottom line. Process & Technology Enablement Optimize the end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) processes. Serve as the business owner for Workday ERP procurement modules and peripheral technologies (eRFx, Supplier Portals). Standardize data taxonomy (UNSPSC) and maintain the integrity of the Supplier Master Data. Capability Building & Change Management Design and deploy Procurement Academies and playbooks to upskill the workforce. Lead the cultural shift toward standardized processes through high-touch stakeholder engagement. Facilitate Communities of Practice to share best practices across disparate business units.
Additional Job Description:
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Engineering.
Preferred:
Master's degree (MBA/MS) or professional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, PMP).
Experience & Attributes Industry Tenure:
10+ years of procurement experience, with 5+ years in a leadership or CoE-specific role.
Transformation Track Record:
Proven success leading enterprise-wide operational excellence or digital transformation initiatives.
Sector Knowledge:
Experience in Healthcare (Payer or Provider) or highly regulated environments is a significant advantage.
Technical Savvy:
Deep familiarity with Workday ERP and top-tier procurement suites (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, Jaggaer).
