JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Pizza Hut is seeking an experienced Indirect Category Manager - CAPEX to help shape and execute our global procurement strategy across critical restaurant capital categories, including core kitchen equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E), and related development spend supporting new restaurant builds, remodels, and upgrades. This highly visible global role will leverage Pizza Hut's scale to improve franchisee economics, develop competitive and resilient supply markets, accelerate innovation, and deliver sustainable total-cost advantages across our restaurant system. Working within a decentralized global franchise environment, this leader will partner closely with regional supply chain teams, Development, Engineering, Operations, Finance, franchisees, and strategic suppliers to develop sourcing strategies, lead complex multi-country negotiations, identify new global supply sources, and drive adoption of global and regional category initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and execute global CAPEX category strategies across kitchen equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, FF&E, and related development spend, aligning sourcing strategies with brand, market, and restaurant growth priorities. Build and manage a multi-year category value pipeline, identifying opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, improved lead times, supply resilience, and enhanced franchisee economics. Lead complex multi-country sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and contracting, applying strategic sourcing, total cost of ownership, cost modeling, and should-cost methodologies. Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, including supplier identification, development, performance management, capacity planning, and business continuity. Identify and develop new global supply sources to strengthen competition, improve supply resilience, and support long-term growth. Partner with Development, Engineering, Operations, Food Safety & Quality Assurance, Finance, Sustainability, regional supply chain teams, and franchisees to harmonize specifications and identify value-engineering opportunities. Reduce lifecycle costs without compromising operational performance, food safety, quality, or technical requirements. Monitor global market dynamics, input costs, logistics trends, emerging technologies, supplier capabilities, and geopolitical risks to inform category strategy and sourcing decisions. Develop compelling, data-driven business cases and category dashboards that quantify value, track supplier performance, and support stakeholder decision-making. Establish and maintain appropriate category governance and risk controls, ensuring compliance with sourcing policies, contracts, technical standards, ethical sourcing expectations, and supplier continuity requirements. Lead through influence across franchisees, regional teams, suppliers, and senior functional stakeholders to drive participation and adoption of global and regional sourcing strategies. Champion innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement across the global CAPEX supply base.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of supply chain and/or procurement experience, ideally within restaurant, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, or another multi-site, asset-intensive environment. 5+ years of global or regional strategic category management/procurement experience, with demonstrated responsibility for complex CAPEX, equipment, FF&E, construction, or related technical categories. Demonstrated ability to develop and own category strategies, create multi-year value pipelines, and lead complex multi-country sourcing events and negotiations. Strong commercial and financial acumen, including total cost of ownership (TCO), cost modeling, should-cost analysis, business case development, and savings/value tracking. Strong supplier strategy and relationship-management capabilities, including supplier performance, risk management, business continuity, and development of new global supply sources. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across functions, cultures, geographies, and levels of seniority. Ability to lead enterprise-wide initiatives without direct authority, ideally within a franchise or decentralized operating environment. Strong analytical capabilities with experience utilizing spend analytics, procurement technology, and data-driven decision-making. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills. Self-directed, resilient, adaptable, and comfortable establishing direction in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in restaurant, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, or franchise-based environments. Experience managing kitchen equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, FF&E, construction, or other technical CAPEX categories. Experience working with Development, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Food Safety & Quality Assurance, Sustainability, Legal, construction, architecture, design partners, and third-party consultants. Proven success building partnerships with strategic suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, service providers, regional supply chain leaders, franchise partners, and senior leadership teams.
