Strategic Sourcing Manager

Summary

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to support a growing procurement function and help drive strategic sourcing, supplier management, process improvement, and operational initiatives across the organization.

This role will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop sourcing and category strategies, improve processes, and deliver measurable value.

The successful candidate will bring strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills. This individual will manage a variety of sourcing categories and support broader procurement initiatives as business needs evolve.

General Duties

Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on cost optimization, supplier performance, risk management, and process improvement.

Identify opportunities to standardize processes and improve procurement effectiveness.

Partner with business stakeholders throughout the sourcing and procurement lifecycle.

Develop and execute category management and strategic sourcing strategies.

Lead competitive sourcing processes, supplier evaluations, and negotiations.

Support procurement transformation through technology, analytics, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Value Creation

Identify opportunities to improve cost, service levels, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

Develop sourcing and category strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

Build fact-based recommendations and business cases to support decision-making.

Lead initiatives that deliver measurable financial and operational value.

Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with leaders across multiple business functions to understand requirements and business priorities.

Provide procurement expertise and consultative support to internal stakeholders.

Lead cross-functional projects and help stakeholders evaluate sourcing and supplier-related decisions.

Support adoption of new procurement processes, tools, and practices.

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

Lead supplier selection, competitive bidding, negotiations, and contracting activities for assigned categories.

Manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities to improve performance and value.

Monitor market conditions, supplier capabilities, and potential business risks.

Establish supplier performance expectations and support continuous improvement efforts.

Process Improvement & Procurement Transformation

Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve procurement processes.

Support initiatives related to procurement technology, policies, processes, and operating practices.

Use procurement systems and analytics to improve visibility, compliance, and decision-making.

Promote continuous improvement throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Analytics & Communication

Analyze spend, supplier, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.

Develop presentations, recommendations, and progress updates for leadership.

Track savings, performance improvements, and other procurement-related results.

Translate data and analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, consulting, or a related discipline.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing multiple priorities.

Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to translate data and analysis into actionable business recommendations.

Experience with procurement, sourcing, or spend-management technology.

Experience sourcing and managing suppliers across multiple categories.

Understanding of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
