Resort Retailers is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Category Manager to oversee center store categories. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive sales and profitability for grocery, snack and non-food products. Resort Retailers is a Park City, Utah based convenience and gas store operator with 19 locations throughout the state. This position is an office-based role and will report directly to the Senior Category Manager.Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day tactics and operations of assigned categories. Develop and implement data-driven category strategies to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotions. Identify opportunities and challenges by analyzing sales data, customer insights, and market trends within assigned categories to drive growth. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, merchandising, operations, and inventory teams to bring category strategies to life. Negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional support with key vendors and manage vendor relationships to drive product innovation and cost efficiency. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on category performance, including sales, margin, and inventory turnover. Prepare supplier and category analyses and presentation materials. Lead the strategic development and planning for assigned categories, ensuring consistency with overall merchandising strategy. Build credible, long-lasting relationships with multiple stakeholders, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business related field, OR equivalent experience. 5+ years of category management and procurement experience, preferably in the convenience or retail industry. Demonstrated experience with strategic sourcing, procurement, and vendor negotiation. Proven ability to develop and execute category strategies that deliver financial results. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple categories and adapt to changing market dynamics. Strong project management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.Benefits:
