Job Description
AT3 is excited to partner with a very well-established manufacturer seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager near the South Burlington VT area to drive and continuously improve procurement and strategic sourcing efforts. This individual will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring material availability, and leading a team focused on purchasing execution. The ideal candidate will bring strong supplier negotiation experience, a collaborative leadership style, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve cost, quality, delivery performance, and supplier reliability. Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, contracts, and long-term commercial agreements. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while managing supplier performance through metrics, scorecards, and corrective action plans. Partner closely with Operations, Planning, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure material availability and proactively address supply chain risks. Monitor purchasing activity and inventory levels to balance production requirements, customer demand, and inventory objectives. Support new product introductions, supplier qualifications, and dual-source initiatives to strengthen supply chain resilience. Lead, develop, and mentor the purchasing team while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, reduce costs, and increase overall supply chain efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Five or more years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain leadership experience within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience negotiating supplier contracts and commercial agreements. Strong background developing supplier relationships and improving supplier performance. Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience supporting aerospace manufacturing and AS9100 environments is preferred. Why Join? Pay:
