Job Description

LifeWorks is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Anchorage Adult Day Program. This position provides leadership and supervision to Activity Facilitators while ensuring members receive safe, respectful, engaging, and person-centered services. The Program Manager will work closely with LifeWorks leadership, staff, care coordinators, case managers, members' homes, care providers, and community partners to support the needs and well-being of the individuals we serve. What You'll Do Program Operations Oversee the daily operation of the Adult Day Program and ensure services are delivered safely and effectively. Maintain a welcoming, respectful, organized, and engaging environment for members. Establish and maintain appropriate daily routines, opening and closing procedures, and program practices. Monitor and engage members when Activity Facilitators or other assigned staff are unavailable. Ensure activity spaces, common areas, bathrooms, hallways, and staff areas are clean, safe, and well maintained. Identify facility and maintenance concerns and coordinate with maintenance and janitorial staff to resolve issues promptly. Monitor program operations, address concerns as they arise, and identify opportunities for improvement. Staff Leadership & Supervision Hire, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Activity Facilitators in accordance with LifeWorks policies and procedures. Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, encouragement, and support to program staff. Address performance, conduct, attendance, and operational concerns appropriately and professionally. Promote teamwork, communication, accountability, and professionalism. Maintain adequate staffing levels and request additional administrative support when needed. Assist the Chief Operating Officer with staff meetings, training, and professional development activities. Member Services & Care Coordination Promote a person-centered approach that respects each member's needs, preferences, abilities, dignity, and independence. Respond promptly and professionally to member questions, concerns, and requests. Communicate with members' homes, care coordinators, case managers, care providers, and other appropriate parties to address concerns and coordinate services. Identify and communicate changes in member needs or concerns to appropriate staff. Foster a supportive environment that promotes member participation, socialization, learning, and independence. Activities & Community Engagement Collaborate with the Activities Team to develop and maintain an engaging schedule of activities. Encourage member participation and meaningful social and recreational opportunities. Support the planning and coordination of field trips, excursions, and other community-based activities. Help ensure activities are appropriate to members' interests, abilities, and needs. Communication & Professional Standards Maintain a high level of professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with members, employees, guardians, care providers, leadership, and community partners. Build effective working relationships with LifeWorks leadership, Case Managers, Care Coordinators, the Dispatcher, Assisted Living Home Administrators, service providers, and community partners. Communicate operational concerns, conflicts, staffing issues, and member concerns to the Chief Operating Officer in a timely and professional manner. What We're Looking For The successful candidate will have: A strong understanding of health, human services, or a related field, including the needs of older adults and/or individuals with disabilities. At least 2 years of supervisory experience. At least 4 years of professional experience working with human service recipients in social work, psychology, rehabilitation, nursing, or a closely related field or setting. A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation, nursing, or a closely related human services field is strongly preferred. Experience working directly in an Adult Day Program is preferred; Adult Day Program supervisory experience is a plus. Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities in a busy environment. Flexibility, adaptability, and sound judgment. The ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries. A commitment to person-centered services and the dignity, independence, safety, and well-being of the individuals served. The ability to learn and use computer software and technology required for daily program and administrative responsibilities. A valid Alaska driver's license . Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to safely perform physical tasks necessary to support members and maintain program operations, including lifting up to 50 pounds; pushing and assisting members who use wheelchairs; standing, walking, bending, reaching, and performing routine physical activities throughout the workday; providing or assisting with physical support when necessary to ensure member safety. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
