Job Description

Tuscaloosa Higher Education Program Resident Advisor Reports to: Program Manager FLSA - Non-Exempt Are you mission-minded and passionate about helping youth in your community and making a lasting impact on someone's life? We are currently seeking a dedicated Scholarship Resident Advisor for our Higher Education Program who will serve as a positive role model to support, lead, and encourage young people. You will have the chance to form lasting relationships, encourage positive behavior, and design activities to promote overall welfare of youth. What you'll do: The Scholarship Resident Advisor works closely with the Higher Education Program Manager to provide a supportive living environment that is conducive to the academic and personal growth of college students. The Higher Education Resident Advisor will live in the Higher Education Home with students to provide supervision and assistance as needed on a 24-hour basis. The Scholarship Resident Advisor will work varying hours depending upon the residents needs. To be considered, you should: Currently enrolled in a master's degree program from an accredited college or university. Currently enrolled students in their senior year of a bachelor's program will also be considered. Have previous experience as a resident assistant and/or experience in working with youth in foster care or in an alternative care setting. Have experience living in on-campus housing. Have previous experience with cooking and preparing meals. Have a passion for working with a diverse student population, a commitment to student learning and development, and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Be at least 21 years of age. Have a valid driver's license and a driving record that will allow coverage on the Agency's insurance policy. pass a pre-employment physical examination including a drug screen.
Compensation:
Scholarship Resident Advisors are provided a compensation package that includes: A monthly stipend that will be divided into 2 payments every other week ( exception of 3 pay months). Specific Tuition Stipulations. Assignment to a single furnished room.
