full-time Company Description Advanced Mobility Group (AMG) is a consulting firm focused on reshaping transportation through smart, sustainable mobility solutions. 511 CCTA, Street Smarts Contra Costa (SSCC), and Walk N Roll (WNR) are programs of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, managed by Advanced Mobility Group. 511 CCTA provides programs, incentives, and resources to encourage the use of alternative (non-drive alone) modes of transportation for commute and local trips in Contra Costa County. SSCC provides traffic safety education and active transportation (biking/walking) encouragement programs for all public elementary and middle schools located in central, eastern, and Lamorinda areas of Contra Costa County. WNR is an active transportation program that encourages students to walk or bike to school every week. Role Description The Program Coordinator will deliver engaging stage performances in elementary school assemblies. Script memorization is required, and prior acting experience is highly desired. The middle school program requires the coordinator to engage with students one-on-one and in group settings to encourage safe active transportation during interactive Walk/Bike to School events. The coordinator will assist at occasional after-school or evening bicycle rodeos, PTA meetings and presentations. Other tasks include packing materials and handling event preparation, making various deliveries, and occasionally working at in-person community and school events on evenings/weekends. The coordinator will also provide customer service for various 511 CCTA commuter programs, facilitate mailings, and participate in employer events. The coordinator must be physically able to lift large and heavy equipment, have a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Punctuality is critical for this position.

Essential Duties:

Street Smarts Contra Costa (SSCC)

Tasks:

• Elementary school assemblies: Street Smarts provides safety education to all K-5 students by performing engaging school assemblies for grades K-2 and 3-5.

Memorization of two 30-minute scripts and rehearsals with a co-Coordinator are required. Operation of a robotic car during assemblies is also required (training provided). Performer must be able to use a microphone and manipulate slideshows via remote control, iPad, and/or laptop.

Additional tasks:

packing materials, loading, and unloading the company van and school stages of large props and AV equipment, travel (paid time) between the Walnut Creek office and schools, interaction with school staff, and other related miscellaneous tasks. Assemblies take place during the school day; the workday for these events typically starts between 6:00-7:30am. A typical school year includes approximately 30-50 assembly days.

• Middle school Blender Bike events: Street Smarts encourages middle school students to use active transportation to school by hosting fun Walk & Roll to School Day events featuring two stationary blender bikes that are used to make lemonade slushies.

Tasks include packing equipment and materials, loading and unloading the company van, travel (paid time) between the Walnut Creek office and schools, interaction and education with students, helmet fittings, cleaning of equipment after event, and other related miscellaneous tasks. Blender events take place for one hour before the first bell; the workday for these events typically starts before 7am. A typical school year includes approximately 10-15 blender bike events.

• International Walk/Bike to School Day events (typically held in October and May): prepare and deliver event materials to participating schools, using the company vehicle.

Walk N Roll (WNR)

Tasks:

• Attending launch days for the Walk N Roll program to assist new schools with welcoming, organizing, and scanning students. These events typically start between 7:00-7:30am.
• Assisting with occasional after school and/or evening bicycle rodeos.
• Giving presentations at schools and other stakeholder events, meetings with parent volunteers and/or school personnel.
• Training and leading volunteers.
• Other tasks may include sorting, packing, creating, and delivering necessary supplies to schools, travel between the Walnut Creek office and participating schools, and other related miscellaneous tasks.

CCTA Tasks:

• Community events: pack materials, coordinate with organizations, interact with members of the public, be able to provide accurate information about all programs and resources

Summer Bike and Winter Walk Challenges:

perform customer service via email

• Crosstrain on all 511 CCTA programs and program support tasks, including but not limited to the E-Bike Rebate, Big Win, invoicing, and other programs
• Giving presentations to various stakeholders as needed
• Make miscellaneous deliveries and purchases of supplies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Special Abilities Required:

• Acting / performing / public speaking expertise
• Script memorization
• Proficient English speaker; Spanish and/or Dari fluency desired
• Ability and willingness to learn how to operate a remote-controlled robotic car - while voice acting a script from off stage
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, co-workers, school officials, and the public
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Knowledge of/or ability to learn how to operate a slideshow presentation using a projector, iPad, laptop, microphone, and speaker system
• Ability to be punctual and reliable
• Highly sought character traits: leadership, creativity, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and ability to solve problems.

Experience and Education:

• Acting experience preferred
• Two years' experience working or volunteering in an educational setting, performing, in-person community outreach, acting, and/or working in a youth recreational setting such as a summer camp or youth sports
• Experience with presentations, training others, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
• A college degree is preferred; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Other requirements:

Valid CA driver's license and a clean driving record. The role is primarily office-based, with regular attendance at schools and community events as part of program delivery, outreach, and community engagement. Fingerprinting and background check for eligibility to perform in public schools.

Salary:
