Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Program Manager for the Enrichment Program (Folklore and Mariachi Program) is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and supervision of all program related activities across multiple school sites. This individual serves as the primary liaison between the schools, site coordinators, enrichment instructors, families, and community partners to ensure high-quality instruction, student engagement, and alignment with educational and cultural goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Oversight & Planning:

Maintain a program calendar, including classes, rehearsals, performances, and cultural events. Monitor fidelity of instruction across all participating school sites and ensure alignment with the mission and vision of the program. Oversee student recruitment, enrollment, and retention in collaboration with site staff.

Staff Supervision & Support:

Recruit, train, and supervise Folklore and Mariachi instructors. Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities for instructional staff. Conduct regular site visits and observations to provide feedback and ensure quality instruction. Mentor lead instructors who are preparing for advancement, ensuring they have the support to grow into higher-level leadership roles. Assist in the hiring process, including conducting interviews and onboarding new staff to ensure alignment with organizational culture and standards.

Partnerships & Community Engagement:

Serve as the point of contact for school administrators, teachers, and families regarding the enrichment program. Build relationships with cultural organizations, artists, and community stakeholders to enrich the program experience. Coordinate opportunities for family engagement, such as cultural nights, student showcases, and community performances.

Administrative & Operational Duties:

Manage the program supplies, costuming, and instructor timecards. Ensure compliance with district policies, safety protocols, and attendance tracking requirements. Submit observation reports, evaluations, and documentation to the Director of Programs and Executive Director.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching or coordinating Folklore, Mariachi or cultural arts programs. Demonstrated experience working with 1st-8th students in a public school or after-school setting. Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Prior experience managing after-school or Expanded Learning programs. Knowledge of California Education Code, ELOP funding guidelines, or similar after-school program structures. Experience in costume coordination, event planning, or arts-based curriculum development. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Work Schedule:

Flexible afternoons and evenings required to attend program classes, rehearsals and performances. Some weekend and holiday work may be necessary for events or special programs. Travel between school sites is required with this position.

$37.00 - $42.00 per hour
