Facilites the interaction between the schools and the military community to preclude or resolve problems reled to educion and logistical support. Provides assistance and support to coordine and advise military parents of school-aged children on the local school community and in solving educion-reled challenges. Plans, develops, and manages the installion School Liaison Program. Serves as the Installion Commander's representive for issues involving local schools and their relionship to the local military community, which may include representing the command meetings or school boards. Works in conjunction with the military chain of command; Child and Youth Program Managers; the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Coordinor; other service School Liaisons; and other organizions, programs, and/or offices (such as Impact Aid and Marine & Family Programs). Fosters partnerships between schools, families, military organizions, and the local community. Recommends systems, policy and procedural changes to school and installion personnel to improve the local school system and military connected children¿s educion. Educes stakeholders and school staff on the social emotional and educional needs of military students and families. Assesses needs, coordines with local school district administrion, and serves as a focal point for ghering and dissemining informion concerning the local schools. Conducts research and uses research da to simule and solve problems, develop programs, and cree reports. Demonstres understanding of laws and policies, (ste or Department of Defense Educion Activity (DoDEA) educion codes, DoD, and Marine Corps regulions) and applies them in support of installion policies regarding educion mters. Provides assistance th addresses the needs of transitioning children/youth, e.g. school in/out- processing protocol, local action plans to ease school transitions. Articules School Liaison policies, procedures, and priorities; interprets implicions for youth, parents, commanders, command staff, and school personnel; and outlines expected outcomes to measure success. Serves as the staff liaison to develop, coordine, and integre policies and programs to ensure educional needs support of military family members. Promotes improved community relions and provides oversight on educional needs support services for military families. Conducts and supports transition programming in partnership with local schools. Serves as intermediary between parents and school administrors. Assists parents in locing points of contact in the schools and makes approprie referrals. Maintains resource merials to assist families in understanding policies and procedures of the local school systems and special needs support programs. Interprets guidance and policies as they pertain to family/family member educion. Serves as subject mter expert to the chain of command on all mters reling to the educion of school aged children Provides informion and/or establishes programs to improve various aspects of transition from one school system to another due to housing availability (on or off installion) or permanent change of stion. Analyzes demographic stistics. Prepares reports, informion papers, fact sheets and studies as required. Prepares and presents briefings to the chain of command and approprie installion personnel on school liaison issues. Plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares internal office financial plans and reled records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget. Monitors programs on a regular basis and inities corrective action to ensure support for opering programs of MCCS. Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal opering directives and exercises internal personnel management authorities as deleged by the higher-level supervisor with regard to subordine supervisors and employees in the office. May be required to work a fluctuing work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours. A bachelor¿s degree in a reled field of K-12 educion, special educion, developmental psychology, child or youth development, or another approprie degree from an accredited college. Knowledge and experience of educional theories, principles, practices and procedures of K-12 (primary and secondary) educional programs which may be obtained through gradue study or extended work experience in the field of educion and four years of experience th demonstres knowledge of educion concepts, methods, practices, and higher-level policies reling to educion services and community support for schools supporting Marine Corps families OR a combinion of educion and experience th provides knowledge comparable to th normally acquired through the successful completion of a 4-year course of study in one of the reled fields referenced above. Knowledge of public and defense school systems, programs, missions, and functions. Knowledge of the functions, processes, principles and practices of educional programs and how their function reles to applicion of criteria and concepts for child and youth services programs, and public-school systems which vary from ste-to- ste and from school district to school district. Possess skill to coordine with a variety of regulory, enforcement and other agencies. Possess skill in providing recommendions to assist parents, school districts, and military leadership with developing policies and resolving issues.
