Responsibilities Provide expert wound assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing evaluation for complex wounds. Develop, implement, and update evidence-based wound care protocols and pathways. Educate and mentor nurses and clinical staff on best practices in wound prevention and management. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive wound care plans. Monitor and report quality metrics such as healing rates, readmissions, and pressure injury prevalence. Conduct chart reviews and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards. Lead or participate in wound care rounds and case conferences across care settings. Serve as a clinical resource for product selection, advanced dressings, and wound technologies. Support performance improvement projects focused on skin integrity and patient safety. Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
