$55,363.71 ($ 2,129.37 bi-weekly) Pinellas County Benefits Package This is responsible and independent professional work assisting in planning, coordinating, developing, and overseeing Teen Court and diversion programs for truant and delinquent youth. Working contacts are established with judges assigned to the Unified Family Court and various state agencies to receive and convey detailed program information accurately and assist in the expedited disposition of cases through careful monitoring and supervision. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Juvenile Diversion Program Coordinator. This position may be responsible for delegating supervisory duties over other staff. Assignments are made orally or in writing, and work is reviewed through observation of results obtained, conferences, and periodic reports or evaluations. Education, Experience, Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major study in criminal justice, social work, or behavioral or social sciences; four years' experience with Teen Court, juvenile justice, truancy, or delinquency issues. Experience working with the court system and/or school system preferred. Experience in planning and developing diversion programs and/or Teen Court programs for delinquent youth also preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and logically both orally and in writing. Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, impartiality, and honesty in handling matters before the court. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database software application skills. Handling the public in a pleasant manner. Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to the court system. Ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making recommendations. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Knowledge of issues related to substance abuse treatment and counseling.
