JOB DESCRIPTION FATHERHOOD INITIATIVE COORDINATOR 1 . I N T R O D U C T I O N
The purpose of this job description is to report the functions, requirements, working conditions, and office responsibilities of the Fatherhood Initiative Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Director of Programs. 2 .
E S S E N T I A L F U N C T I O N S
This position is responsible for the supervision, planning, and delivery of the Fatherhood Engagement program. The aim of the Fatherhood Engagement program is to enhance the health and well-being of children and families by supporting, encouraging, and promoting fathers' roles in their child's lives. This is a supervisory position. The Fatherhood Program Coordinator is responsible for delivery of evidence-based father-focused parenting curriculum in community locations, as one-on-one services, recruiting father participants by engaging in community outreach activities and community education, as well as making and maintain partnerships with other community service organizations. This position is also responsible for providing direct services to support fathers' involvement through case management, care coordination, fatherhood initiatives, and life course education. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned: Supervision and training of Fatherhood Engagement staff Develop and implement a Fatherhood Engagement Plan Recruit fathers to participate in Fatherhood services Participate in outreach activities to identify fathers, inform community of services, and build community collaborative relationships Collaborate with Healthy Start direct service providers and Connect representatives to facilitate enrollment of fathers into services Plan and conduct face-to-face visits with fathers using evidence-based curriculum activities, methods, and materials Support expecting or parenting fathers by facilitating educational, economic, employment, mental health, housing, and healthcare needs as required Connect fathers to needed resources and services in the community Maintain timely and accurate records of all visits, contacts, screenings, and resource linkages in the agency's case management system Maintain participant confidentiality and integrity in keeping with agency policies, practices, professional standards, and program requirements Provide support related to father engagement and facilitate trainings related to father involvement such as effective communication and relationship skills for Healthy Start direct service staff who provide services to the infant and the infant's mother Complete, submit, and maintain contract deliverables to funders Contribute to submission of grant proposals and opportunities for supplemental funding Stay current with literature relevant to maternal and child health, such as but not limited to racial disparities, infant mortality, prematurity, low birth weight, maternal infections, maternal stress, repeat teen births, smoking cessation during pregnancy, depression, optimal birth spacing, father inclusion, social determinants of health, SUIDS, substance use and exposure, trauma informed care, protective factors, Life Course Perspective, and strategies for evidence-based interventions Present updates to Healthy Start Coalition board meetings Be available for evening and weekend activities as needed to accommodate families' schedules Perform other duties as assigned Created October 2022 1 . 3 .

M I N I M U M J O B R E Q U I R E M E N T S EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, health education, public health, or a related field preferred and 1 year of experience in community outreach and/or working with at risk fathers/families required. Ability to prioritize work requirements, work with diverse populations, and to work evenings and weekends required. Three (3) years of experience working with men in social/human services or fatherhood programming or three (3) years of experience in case management or counseling or providing direct services to fathers/families and knowledge of community resources preferred. Maternal and child health experience desirable.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Exceptional scheduling and/or prioritizing skills with strong data entry proficiency Ability to handle multi-phone lines effectively Proven ability managing multiple priorities; strong organization, detail and process management orientation Working knowledge of office machines and equipment, e.g. fax machines and photocopiers Strong proficiency with computers, data base entry and with full Microsoft Office suite, email, and internet Excellent written and verbal communication skills; above average interpersonal skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and information and apply appropriate judgment Passion for providing extraordinary customer service and work with people at all levels Demonstrated ability to work independently with supervision: ability to make decisions independently Honesty and integrity are critical to this organization Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality of critical and sensitive information, records, and reports. Understand, interpret, and apply general administrative and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to work well independently and in a team environment Ability to balance multiple assignments and adjust direction and priorities within fast paced and multi-faceted work environment TRAVEL Extensive travel is normal for this position to the client's home, physician offices, hospitals, etc. Must have a valid Florida driver's license. 5 .
