Warm Line Coordinator Mental Health America Southeast Florida/Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention Lauderhill, FL Job Details Part-time $18 - $20 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications Spanish Teamwork Team supervision Volunteer management English Recovery peer support Group peer support Supervising experience Volunteer training Organizational skills Peer support advocacy Quality data entry Office record organization Full Job Description Mental Health America of Southeast Florida (MHA) is seeking a compassionate, peer-experienced SETH Line Coordinator to lead our team of trained volunteers providing emotional support via the SETH Line, a peer-run warm line. This is not a clinical position—it's a unique opportunity for someone with lived experience and a strong understanding of behavioral health recovery to mentor volunteers, coordinate operations, and ensure quality peer-to-peer support for callers facing emotional challenges. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision Oversee the daily operations of the SETH Line peer support warm line. Supervise, schedule, and support peer volunteers during service shifts. Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship in peer support principles and active listening. Program Coordination Recruit and screen volunteers, ensuring alignment with the SETH Line's mission. Lead volunteer training sessions based on peer support models (non-clinical). Maintain open communication and build a supportive team culture. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records including call logs, volunteer attendance, and demographics. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports demonstrating progress and impact. Outreach & Collaboration Conduct outreach to promote the warm line and build community awareness. Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to strengthen program sustainability. Identify additional resources to support callers and volunteers. Other Duties Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the Adult Services Director.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
Experience supervising or working alongside peers in recovery or support environments Strong organizational skills and comfort with data entry and recordkeeping Excellent communication and active listening skills Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, community-facing role Reliable transportation Availability to work evenings or weekends as needed Experience facilitating training or small groups
Preferred:
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) Bachelor's degree in a human services field (relevant lived or volunteer experience may substitute) Familiarity with peer support, wellness recovery principles, and mental health advocacy
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 9.0 - 15.0 per week
