Job Description

Title:
Bloom Beyond Program Intern Reports to: Director of Bloom Beyond Required Education and/or
Experience:
Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Social Work or a related field Lived experience in foster care will be considered in lieu of educational requirements Experience working with or passion for serving youth and young adults Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Experience:
Graduate student pursuing a Masters degree in Social work or a related field Knowledge of social services and community resources Understanding of trauma-informed care principles Experience with curriculum development and/or group or training facilitation
Goals & Objectives:
Support the Bloom Beyond team in serving transition-aged youth (18-26) who have experienced foster care by assisting with resource navigation, life skills development, and program support. This internship offers hands-on experience in youth development, case management, and program implementation, while contributing to Bloom's mission of creating positive outcomes for young people transitioning from foster care.

Apply social work and human services principles in direct practice with transition-aged youth Gain hands-on experience in resource navigation, case management, and youth development Develop skills in curriculum development and group facilitation/training delivery Build knowledge of trauma-informed care and best practices for working with youth who have experienced foster care Expand professional networks by engaging with community partners and social service providers Increase understanding of the Metro Atlanta nonprofit landscape and foster care system
Primary Responsibilities:
Resource Navigation Support young adults in identifying and accessing community resources Maintain and regularly update the program's resource database Conduct follow-ups with participants to ensure successful connection to services Document interactions and maintain accurate, timely case notes Bloom Closet Support Assist in preparing and delivering Bloom Closet services for transition-aged youth (TAY) Support data collection and impact tracking efforts Engage with participants to create a welcoming and supportive shopping experience Independent Living Skills Program Research and compile evidence-based independent living skills curriculum Assist in the development and facilitation of workshops and training sessions Coordinate logistics for educational programming and events Support evaluation of program effectiveness and participant outcomes Contribute to curriculum updates based on participant feedback and best practices Youth/Young Adult Advisory Council Assist with planning and coordination of advisory council meetings Support recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of council members Document meeting discussions, recommendations, and feedback Contribute to the implementation of council-driven initiatives Help foster peer connection and networking opportunities General Program Support Assist with program data collection, tracking, and reporting Support client intake processes, including screenings and assessments Help develop, organize, and maintain program materials Assist with outreach and engagement of prospective participants Contribute to ongoing program evaluation and improvement efforts Support special projects and additional program needs as assigned
Duration, Hours & Compensation:
Minimum commitment of one academic semester 15-32 hours per week (schedule can be flexible based on program needs and academic requirements) Some evening / weekend hours may be required, though rare, for events and council meetings Interns are encouraged to provide all necessary documentation required by their learning institution to receive academic credit for the Bloom Beyond practicum Hybrid work arrangement possible, with some in-person hours required for direct service activities
