This position creates opportunities for business and community leaders to strengthen their knowledge of Macon, build meaningful connections and engage with the issues and institutions shaping the community. This position leads the day-to-day management of Leadership Macon, its alumni initiatives and endowment fund, as well as Leadership Macon University, education programs and major civic and advocacy events. Working under the direction of the Vice President of Operations & Strategic Initiatives, this role coordinates program content, participants, volunteers, partners, and logistics to ensure each initiative advances the Chamber's strategic priorities and delivers a high-quality experience. Position Responsibilities Plan, implement and evaluate the Chamber's portfolio of leadership development, civic engagement, education and advocacy programs. Support coordination of all aspects of Leadership Macon, including recruitment and class selection annually, curriculum development and delivery, class-day planning, participant communication, attendance and graduation requirements, class projects, budgets and program evaluation in partnership with the Advisory Board Develop and manage Leadership Macon alumni engagement initiatives that strengthen connections among graduates and encourage continued program participation. Develop and implement Leadership Macon University programming for college students, emerging professionals and future community leaders. Support the stewardship and growth of the Leadership Macon Endowment Fund, including donor engagement, fundraising initiatives, distributions and impact reporting in coordination with Chamber leadership. Manage and implement education-focused programs, including the

Student & Teacher programs, Business Education Partnership (BEP), New Teacher Welcome and other civics education opportunities. Coordinate major advocacy and civic engagement programs, including Macon Day at the Capitol, the Washington, D.C. Fly-In and other opportunities connecting Chamber Investors and community leaders with local, state and federal government officials. Monitor and engage in local and state government affairs by attending relevant public meetings, legislative sessions, hearings and civic forums; track policy developments and emerging issues; and provide timely updates on matters impacting the Chamber, its investors and the business community. Research, develop, and launch new civic engagement and leadership development programs that strengthen the Chamber's role in cultivating informed, connected and engaged business and community leaders. Collaborate with the communications team to promote programs, communicate with participants and alumni, and provide timely content for newsletters, websites, social media and other communication channels. Establish and track program deliverables, participation data, satisfaction measures and other KPIs in accordance with the Chamber's five-year strategic plan. Maintain accurate program records, calendars, contact information, procedures and supporting materials to ensure consistency and continuity. Maintain professional relationships with the Board of Directors, Chamber Investors, community partners, elected officials and Macon-Bibb community leaders. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business, communications, education, public policy, political science or a related field preferred. Skills & Experience Demonstrated professional experience in program management, leadership development, civic engagement, community relations, corporate partnerships, education, public affairs or a related field. Strong project-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs, budgets, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously. Experience participating in or developing and delivering cohort-based programs, educational experiences or leadership training. Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with business leaders, educators, elected officials, volunteers, sponsors and diverse community partners. Excellent written, verbal and public-facing communication skills. Ability to collect and analyze program data, evaluate outcomes and communicate progress toward established goals. Understanding of local and state government structures, civic institutions, education systems. Experience supporting fundraising, grants, sponsorships or donor engagement preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, contact databases, event-registration systems and related program-management technology. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality and represent the Chamber professionally. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while independently owning programs and outcomes. Ability to adapt to changing organizational priorities and identify opportunities to improve program effectiveness, efficiency, and impact.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
