Job Description
About Keiki Coders Keiki Coders runs enrichment programs for K-8 students across Oahu. We're at 20+ schools serving 1,500+ students, helping kids find new passions through hands-on learning. We started with coding and STEM and expanded into creative arts and non-STEM enrichment including K-pop dance and sports programs through our sister brand, Keiki Athletes. About the Role This is our boots-on-the-ground role. You're the person who makes sure programs actually happen: you're on-call during program hours as the first point of contact for anything that comes up, teachers have what they need before class starts, new sites are set up ahead of day one, and when a teacher calls out, you step in and teach the class yourself. You'll report to our Director of Operations and work alongside a remote operations coordinator who handles email, scheduling, and admin.
A typical day:
mornings are prep and coordination — packing kits, getting materials out to sites as needed, checking in with teachers ahead of their classes, and looking at the day's schedule. From about 1pm you're on the road and on-call. Some days you're observing and supporting teachers. Other days you're the one in front of the class. What You'll Do On-Call Site Coordination — the core of this role Roughly 1pm to 5pm during the fall and spring semesters; full days on site during winter and summer camps Be the first point of contact when anything needs attention at a site Coordinate substitute coverage and fill gaps yourself when needed Handle day-of logistics issues Escalate school or parent concerns to the Director of Operations Site Operations & Prep Prep and pack class materials, kits, laptops, and equipment Set up and manage iPads for classes Understand, document, and coordinate the logistics at each site Transport equipment and materials between school sites Set new sites up ahead of day one, and be there on day one to get classes running Substitute Teaching Step in and teach classes when an instructor is out Run classes off our existing lesson plans; no curriculum writing required Stay comfortable in front of a room of K-8 students Teacher Support Check in on instructors at sites, help them get what they need Support new instructor onboarding and first-day shadowing Flag recurring problems so we can fix the process behind them Camps & Other Events Winter camp: Dec 21-24 and Dec 28-31, 2026. You'll need to be on island and available for these days.Summer camp:

Once programs are launched and running, the pace lightens and that's when this work happens. You'd be part of it: helping pilot new programs, running tests at schools, and telling us what actually worked. What We're Looking For We care much more about reliability and attitude than credentials. Must-haves Genuinely reliable — you show up, you follow through, and people can count on you Comfortable working with kids in grades K-8 Willing to jump in wherever needed, including teaching a class on short notice Calm and flexible when plans change mid-day Physically comfortable with the work: loading and carrying equipment, moving between sites, being on your feet Own a car with a valid driver's license and clean driving record (work is primarily in town) Open to occasional weekend commitments On island and available for winter camp (Dec 21-24 and Dec 28-31, 2026) Nice to have Experience with kids: teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, babysitting, youth sports Familiarity with Hawaii public or private schools Interest in STEM, coding, dance, or sports Experience with Google Workspace and Slack Not required: a teaching license, a STEM degree, or prior operations experience.
