ITD currently has an opening for a Program Specialist in the Division of Motor Vehicles. This position is an integral part of the DMV Technology & Project Support unit and will work from two locations: the ITD Headquarters office on State Street in Boise, Idaho, and the Chinden Campus.. This position will specialize in supporting all DMV equipment processes and projects. We are seeking applicants who have a strong background in equipment deployment and troubleshooting, critical thinking skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a creative approach to problem solving, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.Notice:
This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote or work-from-home arrangements. The position requires a criminal background check and may involve statewide travel to support Port of Entry operations and County offices. Applicants must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds for equipment receiving duties.Example of Duties:
Evaluate technology and equipment requests and identify appropriate resolutions. Respond to specialized system requests that support business needs and technology program initiatives. Provide technical program knowledge to evaluate and resolve system and equipment issues. Analyze system functionality and business processes, to recommend improvements and efficiencies. Provide specialized equipment program expertise to collaborate with development teams on new technology projects and system or equipment enhancements. Handle complex customer escalations for troubleshooting equipment issues. Communicate with DMV business units and partner agencies. Gather Port of Entry requirements for new and replacement equipment. Collaborate with other support teams to troubleshoot issues, identify solutions, and communicate with end users to ensure optimal resolution. Assist with planning and deploying large technology projects and lead small technology initiatives, including ensuring DMV equipment inventory is maintained and accounted for.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Some knowledge of management practices; program or project planning and implementation. Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience providing technical support for all DMV equipment and peripheral devices. Experience researching, identifying, analyzing, and presenting solutions for problems using a variety of troubleshooting techniques. To learn more about the department, please visit the ITD website .
