Resilient Community Arts (RCA) is a seeking a part-time (~8 hours/week) Youth Program Coordinator for our Easthampton studio. Our ideal candidate would be someone who is an experienced professional and facilitator, with a big plus if they have work history in K-8 education / art education. This person will focus on scheduling and staffing our afterschool programs in Easthampton and leading custom programming ( birthday parties), as well as other duties listed below. This role will report to RCA's Executive Director.

Pay:

6 hrs/week @ $28/hr, 2 hrs/week @ $20/hr Totaling 8 hrs/week at an average of $26/hr

Responsibilities:

• Material inventory management and restocking / ordering
• Lead in-studio youth & teen afterschool programming in Easthampton studio (Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays) in addition to school vacation programming (December, February, April)
• Point person for private bookings and custom programming
• Facilitation and admin related to programming
• rosters, family communications, planning art shows etc.
• Art material set up & clean up
• Support students in creating unique, explorative artwork in a range of mediums, ranging from painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, sculpture & more. Working within TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) frameworks is encouraged.
• Comfortable supervising and delegating tasks to assitant teachers and high school or college interns.
• Share your own artistic skillsets to generate curriculum and activities

Experience & Qualifications:

• Strong background in art education
• Confidence in teaching groups (avg class size 6-15) and various art making offerings
• Comfortability with a wide range of art materials and demonstrating technique
• Background knowledge on how to care for basic art supplies: (brushes, scissors, palettes)
• Knowledge or experience in child development, first aid, behavior management, daycare, or classroom management is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience and the ability to work with students of different ages and learning abilities
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs
• Passion for art and helping students explore art making as a tool for self expression
• Reliable transportation is a must.
