Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Program Coordinator to support Chelsea Senior Center's Ease the Day Caregiver Support Program. This position is perfect for someone eager to make a tangible difference while working alongside an amazing team of staff, volunteers, and care partners. Essential functions 1. Assist with and/or lead daily recreational, therapeutic, and social activities, including arts and crafts, games, physical exercise, and music alongside the adult day program team of staff and volunteers. 2. Prepare necessary supplies prior to each day, assist in set-up and clean-up of activity spaces. 3. Support and engage participants and volunteers in meaningful and purposeful activities which take personal interests, capacities and skills into account. 4. Ensure a safe and secure environment; monitoring for and helping to manage wandering or disruptive behaviors. 5. Complete administrative and reporting tasks accurately and on time. 6. Communicate any concerns to supervisor. 7. Maintain confidentiality. 8. Pivot when necessary to address changing needs, circumstances, and behaviors. 9. Assist in recruitment and onboarding of volunteers. 10. Provide support as needed for other Chelsea Senior Center activities and functions. Minimum, required qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Experience working in human services, social services, public health, gerontology or related field preferred. Other requirements
- Valid Michigan driver's license.
- Successful criminal background check.
- CPR/AED certification or willingness to be certified. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience developing programs and activities for targeted populations and those with complex needs.
- Possess excellent computer skills and ability to navigate office technology and computer software applications.
- Ability to think quickly, maintain self-control, and adapt to stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate detailed, often sensitive information effectively, calmly and concisely.
- Possess strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals within and outside the organization
- Ability to work as part of a successful team of co-workers, volunteers, and family caregivers
Physical Demands:
Able to lift 25 pounds. Ability to handle typical movements seen in a busy, people focused, activity driven workspace. Tasks may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.Pay:
