About Friendship Circle Friendship Circle provides recreational, social, educational, and vocational programming that supports 3,000 individuals with special needs and their families. Through this work, we also enrich our vast network of volunteers, giving them the opportunity to experience the rewards of selfless giving. Friendship Circle further supports individuals and families facing isolation and other family-related challenges. Job Overview We're looking for a natural leader to own and drive Friendship Circle's Kids and Teens Programs. This is a role for someone who takes charge, sets a high bar, and pushes both themselves and their team to keep improving. You'll be given real ownership — from initial planning through execution — and the trust to run with it, while working closely with leadership to align on direction and priorities. Friendship Circle Core Values Respect for every person for their infinite value within their soul Values the Jewish foundation of Friendship Circle Takes ownership Team player "Yes" attitude Growth mindset What You'll Do Lead and Own Program Strategy Set clear goals for programs that align with Friendship Circle's strategic objectives Identify new projects, programs, and initiatives to grow the Programs Team's impact Plan programs end-to-end, due dates, milestones, and processes — and hold the timeline accountable Lead People Hold every member of the programs team — Teen Volunteer Coordinators, program staff, Resource Team and Family Managers alike — accountable to a high standard, with kindness and compassion Be present and hands-on, supporting and overseeing programs in-person Coach, guide, and develop team members so they grow into their roles, not just fill them Drive Execution Ensure the smooth, successful running of weekend and after-school programs and activities Oversee planning for respite programs, including Winter Camp, MLK Day Camp, Mid-Winter Camp, Snow Day Respites, Summer Camp, and Overnight Camp Manage programs within established budget parameters, with a sharp eye on resourcefulness Communicate and Improve Report detailed, clear status updates to Leadership Take direction well and translate leadership's vision into action Continuously look for ways to sharpen and elevate program quality Work collaboratively within a team to advance Friendship Circle's mission What We're Looking For A leader first — someone who takes initiative, motivates others, and drives results Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving pieces at once A self-starter who is driven, flexible, and receptive to direction and feedback from leadership A growth mindset — always looking to improve, learn, and raise the bar Creative, resourceful thinking — comfortable finding solutions outside the obvious playbook 3-5 years of program planning and/or management experience preferred Experience working with individuals with special needs is a plus, but not required Schedule and Flexibility Expectations This position follows different schedules during the school year and summer and is not a traditional 9:00 AM-5:00 PM role. This is a salaried position and is not structured around clocking in and out. The role offers flexibility over time; however, consistent in-person attendance is essential, particularly when programs are running. The employee must be willing to adjust their schedule as needed to support program operations, special events, meetings, and other organizational responsibilities.
