TBD Position Summary Friendship Circle is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating friendship, belonging, and meaningful opportunities for individuals with special needs and their families. Through engaging programs, social experiences, and community support, we help participants build connections, develop skills, and have fun. At the same time, our volunteers gain meaningful experiences of their own—building friendships, growing as individuals, and discovering the impact of giving back. Our Group Leaders guide participants through our Sunday and after-school programs, creating an engaging, supportive, and FUN experience! They provide direction, encourage participation, build connections, and help make every program meaningful. Group Leaders should be positive, energetic, dependable role models with experience working with children and a willingness to jump in, get involved, and be a little silly! This is the perfect role for someone who loves working with kids, brings great energy, and wants to make a real difference.
What You'll Do:
Keep participants safe, engaged, included, and having fun Guide and support teen volunteers as they connect with participants Jump in to troubleshoot challenges and keep activities running smoothly Communicate clearly, positively, and respectfully with participants, volunteers, and team Assist with bathroom needs when necessary Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to bring the energy Work collaboratively as part of a fun, supportive team Attend team meetings and contribute ideas, feedback, and solutions Follow all Friendship Circle policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Bring your best self, creativity, and enthusiasm to every program
What We're Looking For:
Must be 17 or older Experience working with kids or teens (preferred) Experience with individuals with special needs (preferred) Must be willing to undergo a background check Staff hours are: Sunday 11:00-5:30pm Tuesday 4:00-6:15pm Wednesday 4:00-6:15pm Thursday 4:00-6:15pm
