Job Description

The Program Manager is responsible for managing the execution and communication of assigned customer orders in a contract manufacturing environment. This role tracks orders from receipt through delivery, monitors milestones and lead times, identifies schedule risks and production bottlenecks, and coordinates internally to keep jobs on track. This position serves as a key point of contact for assigned customers regarding order status, schedule updates, open issues, and recovery plans. Depending on the customer account, the Customer Program Manager may also support or manage quotations and commercial follow-up for established customer relationships.

Responsibilities include:
Track received customer orders through internal manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, and delivery milestones. Monitor lead times, schedule commitments, material status, production progress, quality requirements, and open action items. Identify bottlenecks, critical-path issues, resource constraints, and conflicting priorities that may impact order completion. Expedite orders, materials, approvals, inspections, engineering actions, or production steps as needed. Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, and other Program Managers to resolve issues and maintain schedule alignment. Attend internal meetings to report job status, schedule risks, bottlenecks, and recovery actions. Attend customer meetings or provide regular customer updates through established communication channels. Maintain accurate order status information, meeting notes, issue logs, and customer communication records. Escalate at-risk orders and support recovery planning when customer commitments may be impacted. Support quotations and account-related commercial communication for assigned established customers, when applicable. Help balance customer requirements with internal capacity, material availability, quality requirements, and production constraints. Requirements Experience in manufacturing, contract manufacturing, program management, production coordination, customer service, account management, or a related role. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production schedules, material lead times, quality requirements, and order fulfillment workflows. Experience coordinating across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Supply Chain, or similar cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple customer orders, deadlines, priorities, and open action items simultaneously. Ability to identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, lead-time issues, and critical-path constraints. Experience using ERP, MRP, CRM, production scheduling, or project management systems. Familiarity with purchase orders, work orders, bills of material, routings, customer specifications, and quality documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills with both internal teams and external customers. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities. Professional judgment and confidence to escalate issues when schedules, commitments, or customer expectations are at risk. Ability to support customer quotations, order updates, and account-related communication for established customer relationships. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in contract manufacturing, custom manufacturing, production coordination, program management, account management, or customer-facing operations. Experience in machining, fabrication, assembly, electronics manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, industrial equipment, or another engineered-to-order or build-to-print environment. Professional certification such as
PMP, CAPM, APICS CPIM, APICS
CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, or a related project management, supply chain, or operations certification. Experience managing assigned customer accounts or customer-facing programs in a manufacturing environment. Experience preparing, coordinating, or supporting customer quotations. Prior experience working with regulated, quality-sensitive, or documentation-heavy manufacturing environments.
