Essential Job Duties Help cultivate the next generation of agricultural leaders in North Carolina. The Program Coordinator for the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission Agricultural Leadership Development Program ( ALDP ) plays a vital role in delivering a nationally recognized leadership program that equips farmers and agricultural professionals with the knowledge, experiences, and leadership skills needed to strengthen North Carolina agriculture. This position works with the Director of the
NCTTFC ALDP
to assist with strategic planning and day to day operations of the two-year program by coordinating statewide and international learning experiences, managing financial and administrative operations, supporting participant recruitment, and fostering meaningful engagement with alumni and industry partners. Key Responsibilities Program Operations & Event Coordination Direct the planning of all ALDP program activities, including seven three-day statewide sessions, distance learning intersessions, domestic and international study tours, and Washington, D.C. policy visits. Coordinate all travel and event logistics by negotiating and managing vendor contracts, securing lodging, transportation, catering, and meeting facilities, and overseeing travel authorizations and reimbursement processes. Participant Engagement & Program Administration Coordinate and assist with the participant recruitment and selection process by managing applications, scheduling virtual and in-person interviews, and communicating with applicants throughout the selection process. Support alumni engagement by planning alumni dinners, networking events, major alumni gatherings, and international alumni study tours while facilitating program evaluations and preparing impact reports. Communications & Outreach Develop and manage program communications, including website content, Facebook and Instagram updates, participant correspondence, meeting agendas, travel itineraries, and other program materials that promote engagement and increase program visibility. Financial Management & Operational Support Manage the program's financial operations by preparing, reviewing, and processing purchasing, travel, reimbursement, and payment transactions while ensuring compliance with University accounting policies and procedures. Develop and maintain digital workflows using Google Workspace tools and application portals, manage the alumni database, analyze program data to support long-term planning, and maintain current knowledge of University, state, and foundation financial policies. Qualifications Minimum Experience/Education Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred Qualifications Background in agricultural, leadership development, Extension, or higher education programs. Event planning and coordination for multi-day conferences, educational programs, or domestic and international travel. Financial management experience involving program budgets, contracts, purchasing, and financial transactions in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Marketing and communications experience developing outreach materials and managing website and social media content to support program recruitment and engagement. Proficiency with Google Workspace or similar productivity tools for managing program operations, reporting, data, and participant communications. Required License or Certification A valid NC Driver's License and the ability to obtain an NC Driver's License within 60 days of hire.
