Do you have at least 2 years of direct care experience and want to take the next step in your career? This could be a great fit for you. As a Resource Advocate, you'll be an essential part of our Tailored Care Management team, helping individuals with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and other I/DD live healthier, more independent, and fulfilling lives. This position primarily supports individuals living in Durham and Orange counties. What You'll Do- Build meaningful, supportive relationships with individuals and families
- Work closely with Care Managers to support whole-person care
- Help individuals access community resources, services, and supports
- Coordinate appointments and referrals
- Provide education, information, and advocacy to help people reach their goals
- Navigate service systems and document activities using computer-based tools To be successful in this role, you must be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to helping others.
Minimum Requirements:
18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED Two years of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities OR Be a person with lived experience of I/DD OR Be a parent or guardian of an individual with an I/DD with at least two years of direct experience providing care for and navigating the system on behalf of that individual The Arc is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
