Description of Work:
The William H. Thompson Scholars ( WHT ) Learning Community provides academic and life skills support to recipients of the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation Scholarship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Grounded in the Ecology of Validation model, scholars are given opportunities to connect closely with staff, faculty, and peers through a sequence of shared academic courses, learning community activities, and advising. WHT is an energetic and student success focused environment, with Program Coordinators primarily focusing on providing support through individualized meetings with program scholars throughout the academic year. In addition to student support duties, Program Coordinators are assigned leadership responsibilities in areas such as: program diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, social engagement, event planning, housing, study cafe, tutoring services, and education abroad. Administrative experience with maintaining databases is preferred.
