Since 2008, One Simple Wish has granted more than 375,000 wishes and built a nationwide network of Community Partners dedicated to ensuring children, young adults, and families receive the support they need when they need it most. Position Overview The Program Lead, Wishes serves as the operational leader of One Simple Wish's core Wishes Program. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day execution of the program, supporting Wish Coordinators, overseeing program quality and consistency, managing escalated situations, identifying opportunities for improvement, and serving as a key resource for Community Partners. This role combines direct wish fulfillment responsibilities with program oversight and leadership. While the Program Lead provides guidance, training, and support to Wish Coordinators, this is not a formal personnel management position and does not include responsibility for employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, hiring, or performance management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-oriented, adaptable, and deeply committed to providing an exceptional experience for both Community Partners and wish recipients. Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Operations Oversee the daily operation of the Wishes Program. Ensure wishes are reviewed, approved, and fulfilled accurately and efficiently. Monitor program workflows and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and consistency. Assist with wish approvals and fulfillment during high-volume periods. Serve as the primary point of contact for complex or escalated wish situations. Ensure adherence to program policies, procedures, and guidelines. Maintain a strong understanding of trends within the Wishes Program and proactively recommend improvements. Coordinator Support & Leadership Serve as the primary resource and support person for Wish Coordinators. Assist coordinators with problem-solving and navigating challenging situations. Provide onboarding and ongoing training for new coordinators. Share best practices and help ensure consistency across the team. Facilitate communication and collaboration among Wish Program staff. Help prioritize workloads during high-volume periods. Community Partner Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with Community Partners nationwide. Assist with onboarding and training new Community Partners. Respond to escalated Community Partner concerns and questions. Support partner retention efforts through responsive service and relationship-building. Identify opportunities to strengthen partner engagement and participation. Program Growth & Strategy Monitor key program metrics and identify emerging trends. Work with leadership to improve systems, processes, and participant experience. Identify wish trends that may inform fundraising campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and marketing opportunities. Assist with testing and feedback related to platform enhancements and website functionality. Report website issues and recommend improvements to the user experience. Campaign & Wish Support Identify wishes for fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and social media promotion. Assist with management of seasonal wish initiatives and special campaigns. Support large-scale wish drives and matching campaigns. Coordinate and oversee Big Wishes, including gathering information necessary for promotion and fulfillment. Assist with vendor outreach and in-kind donation opportunities when appropriate. Administrative & Financial Support Manage the Wishes customer service inbox and ensure timely responses and follow-up. Assist with monthly reporting and data tracking. Review wish-related financial transactions for accuracy. Support accounting and finance functions related to wish fulfillment. Maintain wish inventory and ensure accurate program records. Special Projects Assist with planning and execution of Wish Parties and other program-related events. Support Love Hope Joy Delivered and The Giving Space initiatives as needed. Participate in organizational projects and cross-department collaborations. Take on special assignments that support the continued growth of the Wishes Program. QualificationsRequired Minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit programs, customer service, case management, social services, or a related field. Exceptional written communication skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills. Strong proficiency with technology and web-based systems. Preferred Experience with One Simple Wish programs or Community Partner relationships. Knowledge of the child welfare system and related social service systems. Experience training, mentoring, or supporting team members. Experience in a growing nonprofit organization. Experience analyzing program data and identifying operational improvements.
