Job Description

Community & Teen Program Coordinator Position Summary This position has responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and growing a quality offering of Community based and Teen Programming for ages 10-19; ultimately providing a safe haven to enjoy social programs, athletic activities, and informative human service options, through three primary areas: Teen Services, Volunteerism, and Recreation Programs. Committed to creating inclusive programs that welcome people from diverse backgrounds.
Essential Functions:
  • Identify community needs and opportunities for new programs and partnerships.
  • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, fairs, and outreach activities.
  • Promote programs through social media, newsletters, flyers, community outreach, and other communication channels.
  • Develop relationships with schools, nonprofits, local businesses, municipal agencies, families, and other community partners.
  • Supervises operation of community and teen program activities and assists in promoting the programs. Some nights and weekends will be required.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate programs, events, workshops, and activities for teens.
  • Build positive relationships with teens and serve as a consistent, supportive adult presence.
  • Recruit, train, and support teen volunteers and program participants.
  • Develop program calendars, schedules, budgets, and materials. Manage program budgets and expenditures in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Track attendance, participation, and program outcomes. Maintain accurate records and ensure required forms, permissions, and documentation are completed.
  • Supervise and support a facility rental staff member, providing direction, training, scheduling, and performance feedback to ensure effective facility operations and a positive experience for renters and community members.
  • Assist with school age child care as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • An associate's Degree in Recreation, Education, Youth Development, Community Development or Human Services and at least 5 years' experience working with teens, planning community events or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience working with teenagers, young adults, families or community based programs.
  • Experience planning and coordinating programs or events and in developing community partnerships.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Proficiency with common computer applications, email, social media, and program management tools.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive programs that welcome people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must possess current certification in First Aid and CPR, or the ability to become certified within 30 days of hire (certification must be maintained throughout employment).
  • Must possess valid automobile operator's license with the ability to provide one's own transportation.
There will be a legally permissible background check for the successful candidate.

$22.75 per hour
