Job Description
Position Summary The Nursing Quality Coordinator is responsible for supporting and advancing quality assurance, continuousimprovement, and accreditation compliance within the associate degree in the science of nursing (ASN) and Bachelor of Science in nursing(BSN) programs. The Quality Coordinator ensures that academic, clinical, and regulatory standards are met while promoting excellence innursing education and student outcomes. Teaching expectations vary based on quality and accreditation workload demands. Qualifications Minimum of a master's degree in nursing with maintenance of expertise in area ofresponsibility. If the individual does not hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, their master's degree or otherprofessional degree, including but not limited to a Ph. D., must be in nursing. Preferred doctorate degree from an accreditedcollege or university OR required to obtain within five years of hire. Current active unencumbered OBN or multistate license topractice registered nursing. Previous teaching experience in a professional nursing education program, preferred. Expectedto meet the faculty requirements of the discipline. Experience for two years in the practice of nursing as a registerednurse. Skills Demonstrates strong organization, prioritization, and conflict resolutionskills. Strong analytical skills, knowledge of form and style of report writing. Ability to manage multiple projects withstrong emphasis on critical thinking, data integrity, accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in data management and reportingtools (e.g., Excel, assessment software). Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Proficient with HigherLearning Commission (HLC) standards of quality and accreditation. Proficient with nursing specific program accreditationagencies. Responsibilities & Expectations 1. Quality Assurance & Compliance Coordinate programevaluation activities in alignment with accreditation standards (e.g., ACEN, OBN). Monitor compliance with institutional, state,and federal regulations. Maintain documentation and evidence for accreditation reviews and site visits. Assist inpreparing annual reports for accrediting bodies and internal audits. 2. Data Collection & Analysis Collect, track, andanalyze program data (e.g., NCLEX pass rates, graduation rates, job placement rates, and student learning outcomes). Develop andmaintain dashboards and reports to inform program decisions. Identify trends and recommend quality improvement initiatives. 3. Program Evaluation & Improvement Lead systematic program evaluation processes. Collaborate with faculty toassess course and program outcomes. Support curriculum review and revision based on data and best practices. Facilitate continuous quality improvement. 4. Faculty & Staff Support Train faculty on assessment tools, data entry, andevaluation processes. Provide guidance on meeting accreditation and quality standards. Support college committeesrelated to curriculum and program evaluation. 5. Policy Development Develop, review, and update policies and proceduresrelated to program quality and compliance. Ensure policies align with regulatory and accreditation standards. 6. TeachingResponsibilities Maintain a regular workload assigned by program director or dean. Responsibilities may includedeveloping and delivering course content, preparing instructional materials, evaluating student performance, maintaining accurate academicrecords, providing student guidance, and participating in curriculum development and program assessment activities. DepartmentResponsibilities & Expectations Each administrator, staff, and faculty member is expected to understand, value, prioritize,and communicate assessment as a critical institutional practice. Everyone has a responsibility to support the culture of assessment withbehaviors that facilitate and sustain practices. Understand data collection/reporting obligations. Represent theDivision of Nursing on Institutional Effectiveness Committee and Assessment Committee. Working Conditions Occasional irregular hours and travel. Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions anddeadlines.
