Job Purpose:
The Food Access Coordinator oversees the Josephine County Food Bank's Mobile Pantry program and ensures that the needs of participants are met in a welcoming, safe, and respectful manner. This position coordinates the efficient and effective distribution of nutritious food while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and program compliance standards. The coordinator also leads the expansion of the Mobile Pantry program to include new community sites and home deliveries, strengthening access to food across the service area. In addition, this role assists with partner agency support and monitoring activities, expansion of the SIMC data system, and oversees volunteers supporting mobile pantry operations both on-site and in the Food Bank warehouse. Working closely with the Programs Director, Operations team, and community partners, the Food Access Coordinator helps bring essential resources directly to the community while upholding the organization's mission of equitable and dignified food access for all. Mobile Pantry Operations (55%) Oversee all aspects of the Mobile Pantry program, ensuring efficient, safe, and client-centered operations. Coordinate and execute the weekly schedule of mobile food distributions, including special or emergency events as needed. Place food and supply orders in advance and ensure accurate truck loading and equipment preparation prior to departure. Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and communicate maintenance needs to Operations staff. Ensure proper food handling, storage, and transportation in compliance with food safety standards and internal policies. Maintain compliance withUSDA, TEFAP
(The Emergency Food Assistance Program), OFB, and Feeding America regulations. Supervise and support volunteers during distributions, fostering a positive and inclusive experience for all participants. Maintain effective relationships with host sites and community partners to ensure smooth, sustained collaboration. Identify and resolve safety or logistical concerns promptly at partner locations. Maintain accurate records of distributions, including attendance data, food quantities, and returned products. Oversee unloading, weighing, and restocking of returned items after each distribution. Support reporting and data tracking for program evaluation and compliance. Collaborate with the Programs Director and Operations team to assess program needs and support program improvements and expansion. Represent the food bank professionally and promote community engagement opportunities. SIMC Support (Digital Check-In System) (20%) Supporting the rollout and implementation of SIMC data system across JCFB network. Assist with outreach, scheduling, and training for partner agencies implementing the SIMC system. Provide on-site support during rollout, including troubleshooting and follow-up assistance. Maintain records of partner participation and support data quality and integrity efforts. Partner Agency Support (20%) Schedule and track annual partner agency site visits in coordination with the Programs Director. Prepare audit materials, compliance documentation, and reporting templates. Enter findings, support follow-up communication, and assist partners with implementing improvements. Additional Duties (5%)- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and community events as a representative of the food bank.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Community-minded with strong relationships or "people" skills.
- Ability to take and give clear directions.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain daily records.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Able to load, unload and organize a truck used for pick-up and delivery of product.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Capable of focusing on problem solving and contributing to building a positive team environment.
- Ability to work well with others from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in safe food handling preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, Certificates, and Experience- Associates degree or 2 years of experience serving vulnerable populations.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience driving large vehicles rated up to 19,500 GVW (No CDL required); preference given to applicants with more experience.
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.
WORK LOCATION
: This position works inside the Josephine County Food Bank main office and warehouse, as well as locations across the county. This position will frequently work outdoors. JCFB is an alcohol and drug-free workplace and a tobacco-free work environment.WORKING CONDITIONS
: Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled office environment and outdoors in various settings. This position maintains standard workplace hours; however, early mornings, weekday evenings, and weekend hours may be required. Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and talking or hearing. Will frequently lift, move, and carry objects more than 50 pounds and push and pull loads up to 1500 pounds on carts and pallet jacks. This position will also require periods of bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, walking to perform tasks, and operation of warehouse equipment.REQUIREMENTS
- Safe driving record, valid Oregon driver's license, current vehicle insurance and ability to use personal vehicle for JCFB business if needed.
- Possess a current Food Handler's Card or obtain one in the first 30 days of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
- Ability to obtain a forklift certification within 90 days of hire.
- Must pass a driving records check and be insurable through Josephine County Food Bank's vehicle insurance policy.
