Job Description
Melmark Overview Melmark is a nonprofit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders. Program Instructor Overview The Program Instructor is responsible for the oversight of all Program instruction for an assigned group of individuals in a structured program room and relevant community environments, designed to promote intellectual, emotional and social growth. Assists with assessments and direct observations, as necessary, to aid in developing appropriate programming, goals and objectives that are appropriate to the ages and populations served and outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP). Will attend ISP meetings as needed, train, supervise, coach and ensure program staff implement plans with high treatment integrity at all times. Additionally, the Program Instructor will assist the behavior analyst with clinical program development and ensure staff adherence to all Behavior Support Plans (BSP) and/or Protocol Summaries, as appropriate. Populations served are sometimes intensely physically challenging. The position requires that staff be aware that individuals who are served may exhibit aggressive and/or self-injurious behavior or may require total care with their daily needs. This requires the Program Instructor to be constantly alert and ready to respond to individuals and staff needs according to effective behavior analytic interventions. The Program Instructor is responsible for and trained in carrying out Ch. 2380 regulations, as they apply to the duties of the position. Also, supervises Program Aides.
