Job Description

This position provides engagement and care to individuals and families in Cumberland County. This is a hybrid position co-located at Spurwink's Elm St and Washington Ave locations as well as working with the City of Portland at the Homeless Service Center. The peer support specialist with offer a unique opportunity to provide connection and engagement with individuals who may be seeking behavioral health and/or substance use support and services. The peer support worker will be integrated into Spurwink's CCBHC and work as a member of a robust interdisciplinary team.
DUTIES:
Knowledge of and maintain community relationships/resources. Engages program participants through direct contact and support. Directly encourages consumer voice. Coaches' participants towards developing satisfying, hopeful, and fulfilling lives as defined by the program participant. Assist participants in identifying and pursuing their recovery goals. Maintain records, EHR, and documentation as required by Spurwink or State Agencies. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with participant's Treatment Team.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification and/or Certified Recovery Coach certification required. All applicants must maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record as outlined in Spurwink's Driving policy.
