00 annually monthly, depending on qualifications, with periodic increments up to $ 76,608.00 annually. This is a full-time, permanent, classified, overtime-eligible position with the Pierce College District and may be eligible for up to two days of remote work per week after the probationary period. The Pierce College Student Success Coach (SSC) advances Pierce College's mission through equity-centered, holistic, and relationship-based student support grounded in the Belong, Advance, and Thrive (BAT) framework and Inclusive Practices philosophy. Within a Guided Pathways framework, the SSC provides culturally responsive, appreciative, and sustaining advising and case management services that support student belonging, persistence, completion, transfer, career readiness, and overall well-being. The SSC works intentionally to remove barriers and advance equitable outcomes for students who have been historically underserved or excluded from systems, policies, and practices, with a commitment to Black and Brown Excellence. The SSC builds meaningful relationships with students to identify strengths, interests, goals, and support needs; guides students in academic and career planning; and connects students to campus and community resources that promote engagement, self-efficacy, and success. In partnership with student services, instruction, and other campus partners, the SSC contributes to an inclusive college environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. This position reports directly to the Director of Advising and Advocacy. This position requires regular and consistent attendance. Essential Functions The Student Success Coach (Program Specialist 3) will be responsible for the following, but not limited to: Case Management, Coaching, and Retention Provide culturally responsive, appreciative, and sustaining advising case management services that advance the engagement, retention, and success of marginalized and minoritized students. Foster an environment in which students feel affirmed, empowered, respected, and valued throughout their educational journey. Support students in navigating academic, career, financial, and personal barriers to persistence and completion, including barriers related to prior educational experiences, trauma, and systemic inequities; provide timely referrals and coordinated support with campus and community resources. Build trusting relationships with students through proactive outreach, ongoing case management, and multiple communication modalities. Guide students in exploring career pathways, selecting programs of study, understanding degree requirements, and developing short and long term academic and career plans. Assist students in evaluating options when goals, progress, or circumstances change by using advising technologies, student data, and case management tools to identify needs and support informed decision-making. Monitor academic progress, degree completion milestones, and funding eligibility requirements; provide early intervention and retention support for students experiencing academic or personal challenges. Collaborate with internal and external partners to assist students with funding processes, transfer planning, graduation preparation, career readiness, and connection to college resources and engagement opportunities. Evaluate unofficial transfer credits and support students in accessing Academic Credit for Prior Learning (ACPL) opportunities and related evaluation processes. Maintain accurate and timely documentation using college-approved advising and case management systems to document services, monitor student progress, and support retention efforts. College Support Advance Pierce College's mission, commitment to equity, and antiracism efforts by promoting access, opportunity, and success for diverse student populations. Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of advising and coaching materials, practices, and services that support historically underserved students. Participate in career fairs, transfer events, outreach activities, committee work, shared governance, and other institutional initiatives that support student success and engagement. Engage in ongoing professional development and apply learning to improve advising practices, team collaboration, and student support services. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to advising, coaching, retention, and student success practices through implementation of recommendations, assessment, and collaboration. Other Duties as Assigned Perform other duties as assigned in support of student success, divisional operations, and institutional priorities. Qualifications Education Required Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or Customer/Client Relations. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. If using equivalency for education, the following requirements must be met: Associate's degree and two (2) years of experience serving clients, students, or customers from diverse backgrounds and intersecting identities. OR Four (4) years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree. This experience must be in addition to the minimum experience required for the position. Experience Required Student/Client Service Experience One (1) year of experience providing direct student services in an educational setting such as advising, financial aid, TRIO, multicultural services, Workforce Education, or related programs; OR one (1) year of experience managing a client caseload in a school, nonprofit, or human services setting. Equity, Inclusion, and Student Support Experience Demonstrated experience providing culturally responsive services to individuals with diverse and intersecting identities and multicultural backgrounds. Demonstrated experience assisting individuals with goal setting, problem solving, decision-making, and exploring academic, career, or personal options. Demonstrated experience making effective referrals to internal and external support resources. Communication and Technology Experience Demonstrated experience providing services through multiple communication modalities including in-person, phone, email, chat, and virtual platforms. Demonstrated experience using electronic information systems, databases, or case management software. Demonstrated experience learning and following privacy laws, confidentiality requirements, and compliance standards. Terms of Employment This is a full-time (40 hours per week) classified, overtime-eligible position with Pierce College District. This position is permanent after serving a 6-month probationary period. The primary work location will be at Pierce College, Puyallup campus. Occasional travel to Pierce College campuses or sites may occur. Work hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekend work, and occasional travel as required. This position may be subject to reassignment between campuses or sites. This position may be eligible for occasional remote work once the incumbent is established in the role. Regular and consistent attendance is required. Salary & Benefits The salary range for this position is $62,892.00

00 annually monthly, depending on qualifications, with periodic increments up to $76,608.00 annually. However, your paycheck is just part of the total compensation package. There is an outstanding benefits package which is worth an additional value equivalent to about 30% of your salary. Physical Work Environment This position is required to work indoors in an open office environment, which requires visual concentration on detail, dexterity, precision, and is subject to frequent noise and interruptions.
