Job Description

Program Coordinator Brookings Backpack Project | Brookings, South Dakota Make a meaningful difference for local children Brookings Backpack Project provides easy-to-prepare weekend meals and snacks to more than 400 children in Brookings, Elkton, Sioux Valley, and Brookings Head Start. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and community-minded Program Coordinator to help keep our food distribution program running smoothly. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating details, and seeing the direct impact of their work. What You'll Do Coordinate Food Manage food inventory, ordering, and deliveries. Create weekly packing menus. Work with vendors to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Coordinate Community Food Drives Support Our Volunteers Recruit, schedule, train, and communicate with volunteers. Help lead weekly packing nights and ensure bags are packed accurately. Help Share Our Mission Capture photos and stories from packing nights and community events. Assist with social media, marketing, fundraising, and special events. Support the Executive Director with projects and other duties as assigned that advance BBP's mission.
Qualifications Education:
Minimum High School Degree (or equivalent work experience).
Technical Skills:
Strong computer proficiency with practical experience in social marketing platforms, database management, and Google/Microsoft programming tools.
Attributes:
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and physically able to support event setup/packing operations. You May Be a
Great Fit If You Are:
Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. A clear and friendly communicator. Able to lift and move food shipments weighing up to 50 pounds. Position Details 30 hours per week with some evening availability for packing nights and evening/weekend events.
