Full Time (Regular), Non-Exempt The Program Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating dynamic program offerings while working directly with youth in schools, community organizations, and Girl Scout events. This role collaborates closely with the Program Team and cross-functionally with other departments to advance council goals and expand Girl Scout impact throughout the community. What You'll Do Partner with the Director of Program to develop and execute an annual, needs-based, data-driven plan with measurable goals. Design and implement innovative programs that engage underserved, underrepresented, and unserved populations. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned program sites within a designated geographic area. Support program and fund development efforts, including basic grant management and reporting. Increase community awareness and visibility through active engagement in youth coalitions, inter-agency meetings, and community events. Stay current on youth trends to ensure programs remain relevant and impactful. Recruit and engage both youth members and adult volunteers. Ensure all programming aligns with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners. Uphold and ensure compliance with all Girl Scout safety standards and procedures. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Support council-wide initiatives, events, meetings, and trainings (some evenings and weekends required). Perform additional duties as assigned. Education & Experience Associate degree or higher (or equivalent work experience). Experience working with youth and adult volunteers. Experience developing and facilitating group programs. Community engagement and public speaking experience preferred. Knowledge of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) and National Program Portfolio preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort working in digital platforms and databases. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage sensitive information and resolve conflicts professionally. Commitment to working with diverse communities. Requirements Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current Girl Scout membership required. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily office-based in a professional, open-concept environment, with regular off-site work in schools, community centers, parks, churches, and camp settings. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional residential camp sessions. Ability to present to large groups and operate standard office equipment. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally. Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions including heat, sun, rain, snow, and uneven terrain (including work at higher elevations).
