Parent Educator Position Description:

The Family Support Center, a 501c3 serving vulnerable families in crisis within our Salt Lake, Tooele, and Summit communities is looking for a dedicated and experienced Parent Educator to oversee development and delivery of the Triple P Parenting curriculum for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with parents or in adult education, program or curriculum development, and a desire to improve our community for the betterment of children. This is a part-time grant supported position with the opportunity to turn into full time as funding opportunities arise.

Our Mission:

"To strengthen families, protect children, and prevent abuse." We do this by offering programs such as our Crisis Nurseries, LifeStart Village, and parenting workshops aimed at reducing instances of child abuse.

20 hrs. per week flexible part-time position. Some evening/weekend hours required to hold classes and workshops

Salary:

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour depending on education and experience

Experience:

• Knowledge of social issues that lead to the need for community parenting education.
• Experience working with parents one on one to provide support and resources.
• A proven record of teaching/training adults or education in lieu of experience
• Public speaking
• Ability to create partnerships with community partners
• Elevated level of personal motivation, initiative, and creativity
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Strong organizational capabilities to schedule parenting courses and community workshops
• Event management a plus.

Duties:

Attend curriculum training and achieve certification Conduct participant intakes and enrollment processes for Triple P parenting cohorts. Facilitate Triple P parenting classes for parents and caregivers of children ages 2-17 in English (and preferably Spanish). Assist in grant requirements and grant reporting Collect, analyze, and present data to evaluate quality, need, and impact of the program Support participant engagement and retention throughout the program. Participate in outreach and recruitment activities to increase program enrollment. Maintain participant records and enter program data into Casebook. Assist with monitoring participant progress and collecting required program outcomes. Collaborate with the Program Manager on curriculum delivery and program improvement efforts. Support organizational development activities as needed, including volunteer engagement, community events, and in-kind donation efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (this may include, but is not limited to Social Work, Education, Community Development, Curriculum Development, etc.).
• Ability to pass a state and federal background/fingerprinting check
• Proficiency in Microsoft /Adobe Office products
• Eligible to work in the US
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred but not required
