Community Experience:
It's Our Business, It's Our Passion The Chesterfield Community Engagement and Resources Department seeks an experienced professional to work with the Mobility Services team. We are seeking an ideal candidate who will employ a community collaboration, strengths-based, and solution-focused approach in all aspects of transit program coordination.
What You Do and How You Do It:
As the Mobility Program Coordinator, under general supervision, the candidate will perform work of moderate difficulty in administering a transit program, and perform related work as required. The candidate must have the ability to register and certify residents for programs; process a variety of forms and/or paperwork. Prepare financial record keeping. Market programs and educate external agencies and customers on services; prepare informational materials and respond to requests for information. Monitor and work with providers to resolve service concerns. Work with external agencies in developing and coordinating the provision of transportation services. Assist in budget preparation and monitor revenues and expenditures. Monitor and analyze program performance; evaluate program effectiveness and compliance with contracts and program goals. The candidate will create financial and rider reports using a Mobility Platform, Power BI program. The ability to identify problem areas relating to service delivery and take corrective action. The day-to-day operations of policies and operational priorities related to transportation services, including enhancing service quality. Experience in finance, budget analysis, and grant writing. Experience with creative marketing tools and website updates. Interaction with citizens of Chesterfield County with diverse backgrounds. Perform other work as required.
Here's What You Need:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, business or public administration or a related field. One year of experience in transit operations or related program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of public transportation management and urban and regional transportation planning principles and theories. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required. We are Looking for
Ideal Candidates Who Have:
Knowledge of how to apply pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to transportation programs. Working knowledge of public transportation systems, operating principles and practices. Ability to evaluate vendor performance and capabilities to ensure they are meeting program standards. Ability to receive customer complaints and address and resolve issues with vendor, communicate corrective actions with customer. Ability to address misuse of the service by customers and take corrective actions as needed. Capabilities for public speaking, presenting the program and how it works not only to new customers but also County departments, County leadership, State and nonprofit agencies. Knowledge of principles and practices of marketing and their application to program administration. Ability to develop promotional strategies and materials. Ability to identify and define problems, evaluate data, make recommendations, set objectives, and develop procedures. Experience in finance, budget analysis, and grant writing. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment. Ability to interact with a variety of people from different cultures, backgrounds and of varying ages. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, elected officials, senior leadership, citizens, and diverse populations. Ability to travel to regional and state-wide transportation seminars. Ability to perform work that is fast-paced, high-volume, and requires superior customer service, ethics, and focus on details.
